The short version

Your PDF files are processed inside your own browser. They are never uploaded to 40PDF servers, and we cannot see, store or share them.

Your files

When you add a file to a tool, your browser reads it and creates the result on your device. Nothing from the file is sent to us. When you close the tab, the file and the result are gone from the page's memory.

Helper files from other companies

To do its job, a tool loads open-source helper code (such as pdf-lib and PDF.js) from the cdnjs content delivery network, run by Cloudflare. Like any website request, this lets that network see your IP address and browser details. It does not include your files.

Analytics and advertising

We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are popular. We use Google AdSense to show ads that help pay for the site. Google may use cookies or similar technology for these services. This is information about your visit, not about your files. You can manage ad personalization in your Google ad settings, and you can block cookies in your browser.

Local storage

We do not store any personal settings in your browser. When you pick a file on the home page, your browser keeps it temporarily on your own device so the tool you choose can open it. It is removed as soon as the tool opens it.

When you email us

If you contact us, we receive your email address and message. We use them only to reply, and we do not sell them.

Children

40PDF is a general-audience tool and is not aimed at children under 13.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page.
