    About Extract Pages

Extract Pages builds a brand new PDF from only the pages you choose. They do not have to sit next to each other: 1, 4, 9-12 works fine. Your original file is not changed in any way.

Got a 90-page report but your manager only wants pages 4 to 9? Extract Pages makes a brand new PDF from just the pages you list, and your original stays untouched.

    How to use Extract Pages

    1. Choose your PDF.
    2. Type the pages you want to keep.
    3. Press Extract pages and download your new, smaller PDF.

    When to use Extract Pages

    • Send a manager only pages 4 to 9 of a 90-page report.
    • Save the one page of a form that needs a signature.
    • Pull the results table out of a long study or lab report.
    • Create a short preview of a document for a customer.

    Tips for better results

    • Pages come out in the order you type them, so 5, 2 gives you page 5 first.
    • Need every page as a separate file instead? Use Split PDF.
    • Combine extracted pieces from several files with Merge PDF.

    Why use 40PDF for this?

Extraction runs entirely in the browser. You can pull a page out of a private contract or medical letter without sharing the whole document with a third party.

    Extract Pages: questions and answers

Does it change my original file?

No. Your original is never modified. You get a new file.

Can I pick pages that are not next to each other?

Yes. Something like 1, 5, 9-12 works fine.

What is the difference from Split PDF?

Split gives you several files. Extract gives you one file with the pages you choose.

How do I extract one page from a PDF?

Open Extract Pages, add your PDF, type the page number in Pages to keep and press Extract pages. The new single-page PDF downloads straight away.

What is the difference between extracting and splitting?

Extracting makes one new file from the pages you list. Splitting cuts the document into several files.

Will the extracted pages look the same?

Yes. Pages are copied directly, so fonts, images and layout are unchanged.
