The old way: print, sign with a pen, scan, email. It wastes paper and half an afternoon. You can do the same thing on your screen with Sign PDF.

Steps to sign a PDF

  1. Open the Sign PDF tool and add your document.
  2. Draw your signature in the box with a mouse, a finger or a stylus. Phones and tablets are the easiest.
  3. Choose the page (first, last or every page) and where on the page it goes.
  4. Pick a signature size and press Sign PDF.
  5. Download the signed copy.

Tips for a good-looking signature

  • Draw slowly and use the full box so the signature is not too small.
  • Press Clear and try again until it looks like your normal signature.
  • Use a Medium size for most forms. Large can overlap other text.

Need to add a date or name too?

Use Add Text to PDF to type the date, your printed name or a place next to your signature. Do the text first, then the signature, so the two are lined up properly.

Is it a real signature?

This places an image of your handwritten signature on the page. It is fine for many everyday forms, permission slips, rental paperwork and internal approvals. Some contracts require a certified digital signature, which proves who signed and that the file was not changed afterwards. If your document says that, use a service built for it. Rules also differ by country, so check what the receiver accepts.

Keep it private

Your document and your signature are handled inside your browser. They are not uploaded anywhere, and the signature disappears when you close the tab.

After signing

If you must send several signed pages as one file, combine them with Merge PDF. If the file is large, reduce it with Compress PDF.
