Using the tools

40PDF is free for personal and business use. Please only process files you own or have permission to change. Do not use the tools to break the law or to get around protection on documents that are not yours.

Keep a copy of your original

The tools create new files and do not change your originals. Still, always keep a backup. Some tools, such as strong compression, change how a file is built, so check the result before you rely on it.

No guarantees

We work hard to make the tools reliable, but they are provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. Results can vary with the file you use, your browser and your device. We are not responsible for lost data, lost time or any loss that comes from using the site.

Certified signatures

The Sign PDF tool adds an image of your handwritten signature. It is not a certified or legally verified digital signature. Please check what your document and local law require.

Our content

The 40PDF name, design and written content belong to us. The tools rely on open-source libraries that keep their own licenses. You own your files and the results.

Changes and contact
